Houstonian, former Ambassador and longtime Bush advisor endorses Jim Noteware for CD 7

Ambassador Chase Untermeyer, who served Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush, endorses Jim Noteware for US Congressional Race in CD 7. Ambassador Untermeyer volunteered on George H.W. Bush first race in CD7, which President Bush won in 1966 and afterward was an intern in his Capitol office. Ambassdaor Untermeyer went on to have a very successful government and business career.

Ambassador Untermeyer says, “For the first time in over 60 years, the 7th Congressional District of Texas is represented by a Democrat who supports big government, higher taxes and more spending." This district is one the most important districts in the United States due to our expertise in energy and healthcare.

Boilerplate: Ambassador Chase Untermeyer served under George H.W. Bush during his Vice Presidency and his Presidency and was appointed Assistant Secretary of the Navy under President Reagan. 

He served as United States ambassador to Qatar from 2004 to 2007, under President George W. Bush. 

He is a 1964 graduate of Memorial High School in Houston, a 1968 graduate of Harvard College and served in the Vietnam War as an officer in the United States Navy. 

Upon returning from Vietnam he was a member of the Texas House of Representatives from the Houston area.

Jim Noteware has a 45-year successful track record in business and within the community. A former Fortune 500 CEO who has done business all over the world.

He and his wife Sylvia have been together for 45 years and have four successful grown children; all products of HISD. Jim holds a degree from Stanford University in civil engineering and an MBA from Wharton.

They have called Houston home for 32 years and love Texas. Jim says, “he plans to take his Texas values to change Washington, D.C.”
