Earlier this year Jim Noteware was invited by the Pachyderm Club to speak to their Members about Jim's lawsuit against the City of Houston. The lawsuit is regarding the misleading language on the November 2017 ballot that approved the proposed $1 billion offering of Pension Obligation Bonds as part of Mayor Sylvester Turner's pension "reform" plan. On November 17, 2017, Jim Noteware sent a letter to State Senator Joan Huffman opposing the bonds.  It was the preparation of the analysis contained in this letter that led Bill Frazer and Attorney, Jerad, to discover the inconsistency between the ballot language and the Ordinance that City Council passed that authorized issuance of the bonds as required by the State legislation, SB 2190, sponsored by Senator Huffman.

Evidence such as a yard sign posted by supporters of the bonds in advance of the election, promised "NO NEW TAXES," which indicated that the ballot language was not the only misleading language!
